About
I’m a civil engineer and international development professional who has spent the last two decades working on infrastructure and water projects in some of the world’s most challenging places — Haiti, Liberia, and beyond.
My work has taken me from improving piped water systems in Haiti to supervising road rehabilitation across rural Liberia. I’ve worked through earthquakes, epidemics, and political crises, and I’ve seen firsthand both what international development can accomplish and where it falls short.
Most recently, I was managing a USAID-funded project in Haiti aimed at helping water utilities improve their management and expand their service to over a million Haitians — until the Trump administration shut down USAID in early 2025, terminating the project along with it.
This blog is where I write about what I’ve seen, what I think, and what I’m reading. The topics range from international development and public policy to productivity, career, and the occasional book review. I don’t write on a schedule — I write when I have something worth saying.
I’m based in the Washington DC area.
